Any there any requirements to apply for Kayaaku Wallet or Prepaid Card?

To apply for a Kayaaku Wallet or Prepaid Card, you'll need to:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Have a valid email address
  • Provide a valid Malaysian residential or mailing address (P.O. Boxes aren't accepted, except in Sabah)
  • Present a valid government-issued ID (NRIC for Malaysians, or Passport for foreign nationals)
  • Have a valid Malaysian mobile number to receive your OTP

No income documents are required.

What happens if I don't meet the terms and conditions for my application?

If you don't meet the required terms and conditions, your application may be rejected.

How do I download and access my Kayaaku Wallet?

You can get started with Kayaaku Wallet in two ways: download the app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store, or apply directly through the Kayaaku Wallet online portal.

What types of Wallet accounts do you offer?

We offer three types of Wallet accounts:

  1. Basic Wallet — Issued automatically when you successfully sign up and complete e-KYC verification, as long as your information is complete and you're not on any regulatory blacklist. Use it to make retail payments anywhere in Malaysia.
  2. Standard Wallet — Upgrade by submitting the required profile information and completing the applicable verification. You'll enjoy benefits such as a prepaid card with a RM10,000 limit, seamless cross-border purchases, and easy peer-to-peer transfers via DuitNow — plus more.
  3. Premium Wallet — Enjoy an e-wallet limit of up to RM30,000, along with exclusive perks on our app and web portal. To upgrade, provide or review the required profile information and complete the applicable verification requirements.

What is the maximum allowable limit for the funds in my Wallet Account?

This depends on your Wallet type. See the Basic, Standard, and Premium comparison above for the specific limits.

How do I upgrade my Kayaaku Wallet?

Open the Kayaaku Wallet app and select the available wallet upgrade option. Follow the on-screen instructions to provide or review the required information and complete any applicable verification requirements. If you have not previously completed e-KYC, you will be required to complete e-KYC by providing the required identification document and verifying your identity.

What are the types of passwords and PINs in Kayaaku Wallet?
  • Login password — an alphanumeric password used to log in to the Kayaaku Wallet app or online portal.
  • Wallet PIN — a 6-digit PIN set the first time you log in, used to authorise transactions in the app.
  • Card PIN / ATM PIN — a 6-digit PIN set when you apply for your Physical Prepaid Card, entered at POS terminals and ATMs.

Why was my Premium Wallet upgrade rejected?

Where do you keep my funds?

Your funds are held in your Wallet Account and safeguarded through a Trust Account with a licensed bank. This means your money is kept separate from our own company funds, held under the safekeeping of a regulated financial institution.
